The Non-Works
of
Samuel Tyldsley
Notes
Preach not your words
of wisdom
upon my deaf ears,
you interrupt the voice
of the gods
with the raving
of the mad.
At the center
of this page is a tiny silhouette of a man holding up the sky to form an
opening for this poem which, like the previous, is written in the blue,
cursive style. The remainder of the page is blue, representing sky.
There are two clouds hovering above the man. These clouds form human
faces as they near the center of the page and look down upon the man.
These clouds seem
to be speaking to the man as is referenced in the poem by the line "you
interrupt the voice of the gods". Again, this page, like the one
immediately before it, demonstrates this character's view of alternate
reasoning as mere distraction and self evaluation is given divine status.
The music playing
is Handel's "La Rèjouissance" from his Music for the Royal Fireworks.
It was found at Jonathan
Gustelle's Midi Page.
